Nature Video Series for Healing – Vidant Cancer Center

In 2017, we were honored to partner with Vidant Health (now renamed) and Ntara creative agency on a uniquely meaningful project—one that combined the healing power of nature with the emotional sensitivity of healthcare. Their vision was bold yet simple: create a calm, immersive video experience for patients undergoing cancer treatment, helping them feel more at peace during one of life’s most difficult journeys.
To bring this vision to life, 7 House set out on a cinematic expedition across North Carolina—from the misty Blue Ridge Mountains to the sandy coastline near the Outer Banks, even venturing into Tennessee to capture the fullness of the region’s beauty. The result: a stunning series of original nature scenes designed to soothe the mind and spirit.
Inside the cancer center, large video screens are positioned throughout the facility, especially in the infusion room, where patients can choose from a rotating selection of serene landscapes while receiving treatment. These moments—watching elk graze in an early morning meadow, drifting with jellyfish through sunlit ocean currents, or following a mountain stream over rocks and under rhododendron branches—offer a much-needed sense of escape, calm, and control.
To ensure the highest visual quality, we used a professional-grade gear lineup:
-
DJI Inspire 2 drone for sweeping aerials
-
Red and Canon cameras for cinematic detail
-
A motorized slider and steadicam vest for fluid, grounded movement
Each piece of equipment was carefully chosen to support our goal of making patients feel like they were truly there—in nature, breathing in the mountain air or feeling the rhythm of the sea.
Years later, Vidant (now ECU Health) continues to use these videos daily, a quiet testament to the long-lasting impact of meaningful creative work. For us, this project wasn’t just about capturing beautiful footage—it was about creating space for comfort, reflection, and healing.
We’re proud to continue collaborating with healthcare partners who understand that sometimes the smallest touches—like a view of a waterfall—can make the biggest difference.
